National Weather Network - Terms of Service
Effective Date: August 1, 2025
Thank you for choosing the National Weather Network (NWN). These Terms of Service ("Terms") outline the agreement between affiliates, users, and NWN regarding channel hosting, bandwidth usage, affiliate obligations, promotional agreements, and support.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the NWN platform, website, services, or becoming an affiliate, you acknowledge and agree to comply with all terms set forth in this agreement.
2. Hosting and Bandwidth Usage
- Each NWN membership includes up to 50 TB of video bandwidth per month.
- Bandwidth usage exceeding 50 TB will incur charges of $0.05 per GB.
- Affiliates participating in promotions receive a 50% discount on overage charges, as outlined in the Affiliate Agreement.
3. Affiliate Agreement
By becoming an affiliate, you expressly agree to:
- Actively cross-promote NWN and identify publicly as an NWN affiliate.
- Follow NWN branding guidelines and utilize provided promotional assets.
- Regularly produce and share original weather content meeting NWN quality standards.
Affiliates must also sign a separate, detailed Affiliate Agreement provided by NWN.
4. Promotional Requirements
- Clearly display NWN branding on all affiliate platforms, broadcasts, websites, social media, and related mediums.
- Consistently acknowledge NWN affiliation per provided guidelines.
5. Payments and Billing
- Membership and bandwidth overages are billed monthly.
- Payments are due upon receipt; accounts overdue by 30 days risk service suspension.
6. Equipment and Technical Standards
Affiliates and users must maintain broadcast-quality equipment, software, and reliable internet connections, as outlined during onboarding.
7. Support and Third-Party Products
- NWN provides basic network-related support.
- Support for third-party products may incur additional fees of $100 per hour, with a minimum of one hour billed.
8. Content Guidelines
- Content must be accurate, professional, and adhere to recognized meteorological standards.
- Content must avoid controversial, inappropriate, or unrelated material that may negatively impact NWN's reputation.
9. Modifications and Amendments
NWN reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via the affiliate portal, email, or NWN website. Continued use of NWN services indicates acceptance of all updates.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement with 30 days' written notice. Immediate termination is possible for violations, misconduct, or actions detrimental to NWN.
11. Limitation of Liability
NWN is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from using or being unable to use NWN's services or affiliate programs.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA. Disputes will be settled within the jurisdiction of Lawrence County, Tennessee.
13. Agreement
Your use of NWN services confirms your acceptance of all terms, conditions, and responsibilities stated herein.
